Many, many moons ago I signed up for Upromise. I gave them my shopping card numbers from all of the supermarkets that I frequent and I also gave them my credit card numbers (you don't have to do that part if you don't want to). Then I just went along my merry way, shopping, putting gas in my car, eating out. To make a long story short, I just went back into the account a few months ago because my daughter went into college and lo and behold there was $130 in there. With absolutely no effort on my part I saved a little money for college. Even better than that, I don't have to use that money for college if I don't want to (don't tell her but I am using it for my trip to Disney).
